iHealth ~ iBaby Monitor Review

I am a huge fan of video monitors. They just give so much peace of mind in my opinion. When I heard there was a video baby monitor that would work with my beloved iPhone I was definitely intrigued. I knew I had to try this thing and I am thrilled to bring you a review of the iHealth iBaby Monitor!

The iBaby Monitor will work with your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch! It has night vision so you can see your little one even when all the lights are out! That's a big plus (a must in my opinion) to a video monitor! We haven't put Baby Addy in her crib yet for overnight sleeping so we haven't had to use this feature, but I did check it out a few times just to see how well it worked and was rather impressed. You can also hook up speakers and have two way sound (sound is automatically available for you to hear from your Apple device but if you want to be able to speak to baby you can easily hook up speakers in the room). The sound is delayed by just a few seconds but I can't imagine that being a problem. You can also activate the monitor when baby's cry or sound is detected.

We received our iBaby Monitor the day after Baby Addy was born. I was so excited to get home from the hospital and try this monitor with her! The instructions look incredibly simple. There are four instructions - yes, that's it! Unfortunately it wasn't that easy for us. After looking at the instructions I thought it would take us about 15 minutes, but it actually took us about an hour. The instructions did not go over setting up the WiFi, which we had a bit of a problem with but we were able to resolve it and get the camera working on our WiFi. Both my husband and myself were able to install it on our iPhones so we can both use it. I love that it can be installed on multiple devices (you can install on up to 4 devices).

Once the camera was correctly working I was truly enjoying it. I love that you can move the camera from anywhere in your home by simply using your finger on your Apple device in the direction you want the camera to move! This will be great for when Baby Addy is older and moves around in the crib! When I am moving the camera from my phone, it also moves it on my husband's phone because the actual camera is moving in the room where it is set up. I would love to get a second camera and set it up in LA's room. Since he's in the toddler bed now he has ended up on the floor a few times and it would be perfect for seeing him no matter where he is in the room. It would also be great if you have twins or more than one child in the same room so you can easily check on both children! The iBaby Monitor makes it super easy to do that! I also love that you can take a snapshot of the video picture and it's saved to your photo album on your device. I love sending my husband pictures when he is at work and this is perfect for that!

My Final Thoughts: I love that you can use this with your Apple compatible product. I love having it on my phone so I can see the baby from anywhere in my home. I love that I can move the camera from my phone without having to disturb baby. My only disappointments? I was disappointed that I can't access this from another WiFi connection. When I go back to work I will not be able to see the baby in her crib, but I am happy to know that no one else will be able to either. The other disappointment was with the directions. I love that the directions are simple and easy to follow, however, I wish that they were more detailed and that they went over the WiFi settings because that's where we ran into problems and frustrations.

I was very excited about this diaper because it's organic cotton and it's a one size diaper that fits babies beginning at 7 pounds! I couldn't wait to see how it fit Baby Addy.

The BumGenius Elemental diaper is an all in one diaper made from 100% organic cotton inside. I love the ease of the all in one diaper, however, this diaper does take the longest to dry out of any diaper we have. That is the only downfall I could find, outside of that we absolutely love this diaper. Laundering this diaper is quite simple, we just wash it with the rest of our diapers. It is recommended washing it 5-7 times prior to the first use though since it is organic cotton. The snaps allow the rise on the diaper to adjust to three different sizes and there are snaps that can be adjusted for perfect fit around baby's waist as well.

I waited until Baby Addy's umbilical cord came off before I used this diaper as there is not snap to use to adjust it away from her cord. Once her cord came off this was one of the first diapers I grabbed. She was 7 pounds 14 ounces when I put this on her for the first time and IT FIT HER!!! I was thrilled! We used the diaper for nap times (since she pretty much sleeps all the time right now!) and for an average of 2-3 hours and it worked great. No leaks around the legs or anything. I was quite impressed with how well this one size diaper fit our newborn baby girl! It is a bit bulky, but not nearly as much as I thought it would be.

My Final Thoughts: I was overjoyed with this diaper! I am so happy that it fits Baby Addy this early and I will be buying more that I can use for both LA and Baby Addy! I love that it's a one size diaper, love that it's organic and that it's an all in one - super easy to use!

Tami kindly sent me a Lil Joey newborn diaper and a CJs BUTTer stick for review with Baby Addy. I was very interested in trying the Lil Joey diaper. When I was pregnant with LA I actually bought 2 of these diapers but when I saw how small they were I returned them because I tend to have larger babies and I was worried they wouldn't fit him. After I had him, he was 8 lbs and 4 oz and I was regretting that return because I never got to try them with him. Baby Addy was 7 lbs and 6 oz when we came home from the hospital and this was one of the first diapers I used on her. It is designed for babies between 4 and 12 pounds and they come in sets of two. It is an all in one diaper that has inner gussets, which are fabulous in newborn diapers since their poo is rather "liquidy"! The inner is made of four layers of microfiber and the outer is of course waterproof and requires no cover.

I LOVE that this diaper will snap down and can VERY EASILY be used with newborns before their umbilical cord comes off. Yes, the diaper looks incredibly tiny, but it fits her perfectly! I absolutely love the fit and that it is tiny enough for her. One size diapers are great, but I truly believe that newborn diapers are worth the extra money because they aren't incredibly bulky on baby. We used this diaper for periods between 2 and 3 hours and never had leaks. After using this one I wish that I had ordered some when I was pregnant. I am afraid that if I order more at this point by the time we get them she won't be in them long enough for me to get my money's worth.

Isn't that a cute lil fluffy bum? You can see the diaper fits great all the way around and there are no openings in the legs for anything to escape. I absolutely love this print too! It's too cute!! :)

Tami also sent us a CJs BUTTer stick. We love CJs in this house and my husband always comments that "the stuff is everywhere!" We have not however tried the stick so I was happy to do so! Baby Addy did have a tiny bit of redness on her behind earlier this week so I quickly got the stick out and it is incredibly easy to use on a newborn! Because they always move their legs so much and it can be difficult to keep them still while you open a container, get some out and apply it, the stick is definitely the answer to this problem! It works just as well as the BUTTer we have in the containers and it perfect size for keeping in the diaper bag! It's great for eczema, rashes, dry/chapped skin, rug burns and more! FuzziBunz Review & G!VEAWAY!

She has since received numerous recognitions and awards and her modern day cloth diapers are found in hundreds of online and in store boutiques. FuzziBunz offers one size diapers and perfect size diapers that come in extra small through large sizes. They are all made with very sturdy snap closures and are available in a wide array of colors for that added fun to cloth diapering!

We recently had the chance to try FuzziBunz diapers and I was really excited as this was one diaper we hadn't tried previously. Since we have a 19 month old boy and a newborn girl we went with the one size Elite pocket diaper in Watermelon to try. First, let me just say that I love this color! The red is so vibrant and it was perfect for around Valentine's Day! Bright red and gorgeous! :)

Believe it or not, my husband was the first to try this diaper. I was shocked one day when I got home and started to change LA and he had this diaper on. I was mainly shocked because my husband normally will not use snap diapers. It seemed rather small and it was funny how my husband asked me if the diaper was too small on LA. I mentioned it's a one size diaper and it needed to be adjusted to fit him. He was confused because most of our one size diapers are snaps in the front to adjust the rise. The FuzziBunz one size pocket diaper adjusts to fit babies from 7-35 pounds and uses button-adjusted waist and leg casings to change size. The waist does have a button-adjustment as well as snap adjustments.

We have only used this diaper on LA and the fit is good. We haven't used it on Baby Addy yet because honestly, it's not the easiest for me to adjust so I'd rather leave it on the setting that fits LA for now. I do like the look of this one size diaper better as all of the buttons aren't on the front, however, I do prefer the ease of the buttons for one size diapers.

The waist fits him very well and the snaps make for easy adjustment. There is still plenty of room for him to grow as well since he is on the smallest snap setting.

The legs also fit well and we haven't had any leaks using this diaper. We've used it during day time play time and nap time with success.

The back looks great! It seems to be a trim fitting diaper compared to some. The diaper did come with two inserts. The Elite one size diaper has minky inserts. This was also new to me. None of our other cloth diapers have minky inserts. They are incredibly soft and are supposed to have less odor than microfiber and less staining. We've not had a problem with either odor or staining while using this diaper. It is a bit difficult for me to get the inserts into the diaper as the center is narrow! I do not have a problem with our other pocket diapers though but this diaper seems to be more narrow in the middle than any others we have. We definitely could not add other inserts to this diaper as the hemp inserts we have for extra absorbency do not fit in the pocket opening of this diaper.

My Final Thoughts: Overall I was happy with the diaper. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't easier to adjust in size so I could use it for both children but the fit is good, the color is great and the fact that we had no leaks was a definite plus!

We were sent a great selection of Crystal products for review. (There is one travel size roll on deodorant missing in the picture, it was packed in my hospital bag for after delivering baby Addy!)

The first item I used was the larger size roll on deodorant. I used this for several days and was very pleased. It worked very well and I didn't feel sweaty or smelly at all for the entire day! It is available at Walmart for a very reasonable price of just $2.97! It can also found at Publix, Whole Foods and GNC!

The next item I used was also a deodorant, but it was to be used with water. It is a solid crystal deodorant with aloe vera added. It is rather easy to use, simply put it under the water faucet and then apply it under your arm. The best thing about this item is that it lasts up to ONE YEAR!! It's only $6.99 and yes, it can last one year! What a value in a natural product!! I am very excited about this product because not only was it a great value and a neat product, but it works GREAT! I love it! I also received this in a travel size! LOVE IT!!!

They also sent a Foot Spray for review. Although I haven't needed to use this product yet, I know I will need it this summer. Embarrassing I know, but my feet sweat in the summer when I have to wear shoes instead of sandals and I am so happy to have Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal's Foot Spray on hand for when I need it. After using their deodorant products and having such good luck I am certain this will be the answer to my prayers this summer!

The other spray I was sent is a Spray Mist Body Deodorant. My husband used this product and he was really happy with it. It is an underarm and foot deodorant spray. As you can see they have a wide array of deodorant products: roll on, spray and the stick.

The final item I received was natural lip protection. With it being winter, this item has definitely been used! My lips are always dry in the winter and this has been a great product to use! It has helped tremendously!

My Final Thoughts: I am thrilled that I had this chance to try Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal products. I am a new fan of theirs and will be using these for a long time! I love knowing that my deodorant has no harmful aluminum in it and that it's all natural! I am thrilled that they also have other products available too! The products work incredibly well and I highly recommend them as another way to make a small, affordable, natural change in your body care products!

Addy's Birth Story

Ever since that Thursday night that I had a false labor scare I questioned every contraction. I knew when labor really did start I would doubt it was the real thing. And that's exactly what happened.

Last Monday morning we woke up for work as normal. My husband was going to take LA to his parent's house for the day so I got him ready first. As I was getting him ready my contractions started. They started out being 6-10 minutes apart for the first hour. I debated with myself whether I should call in to work. As the debate continued in my head the contractions got further apart so I drove to work. The whole way there I questioned whether I should go. By the time I got there my contracts were between 10 and 20 minutes apart. After about an hour they were about 20-30 minutes apart but they kept getting harder and harder. They got to the point I couldn't talk through them but because they were so far apart I was convinced I wasn't in labor. I was talking to my manager around 9:30 and I had a contraction that hurt so bad I couldn't talk. She told me I should go home, meet my husband there and go to the hospital.

I left work at 10am. I sent my husband a text (since he teaches and can't answer the phone) and told him I was going home and he should leave work too. I realized on the way home that the next day was Valentine's Day and I needed to stop and get my husband a card in case I was in the hospital. I stopped at a drug store and as I walked in I had a contraction so bad I couldn't walk. I had to pretend I was looking at something on the rack right inside the door. Lol After it ended I quickly picked a card and went home.

For the next hour I had no contractions. I was even more convinced this was false labor. My husband got home and my contractions were back but still far apart and not regular. We relaxed until about 1:50pm when I had a contraction so bad that I was crying. My husband said "come on, let's go to the hospital". I still told him I wasn't sure. Lol After that though my contractions were getting closer and closer and each one hurt so bad. We gathered our bags and got in the car and went to the hospital.

We got there around 2:30pm and when we got to the L&D floor I was having a contraction. They took one look at me, told my husband to check me in and they took me back. They skipped the area where they monitor you to see if you really are in labor before admitting you when they found out my due date and that the Thursday before I was dilated to 4. The took me right to a delivery room and quickly had a doctor check me.

I was shocked when they told me I was dilated to 9! I immediately started asking where my doctor was because I was scared she wouldn't make it. She finally got there around 3:15 and told me that she was going to break my water and then baby would be born shortly after. She did just that and I was dilated to 10 and ready to push. I pushed for 15 minutes and our precious baby girl entered this world at 3:41pm. I couldn't believe how fast it went!

Baby Addy was 7 lbs 11 ounces and 21 inches long. She is the perfect addition to our family and we couldn't be happier. She is healthy and beautiful! I look at her every day and still can't believe I have my baby girl. She sleeps well and rarely cries. She's doing so well at nursing. It's a wonderful thing being a mama again and even though it's a lot of work, I wouldn't change it for the world!

Baby Addy has arrived!

I am SOOOO excited to share our new baby girl with you! Baby Addy arrived Monday, February 13. We had an induction set for Tuesday, but apparently she didn't want her birthday to be on Valentine's Day so she came the day before! :) I'll be writing her birth story over the next few days but I wanted to introduce her now! Here is our beautiful baby girl!

Valentine's Day 2012 - wow...well, first of all - Happy Valentine's Day to my readers! I hope you all have a great day full of love! I am writing this early because I am hoping that when you are reading this I will either be in labor or I will have had our baby girl! What a Valentine's gift that would be, huh? :) One of the children my husband and I created out of our love (and with God's help) entering the world on the day the world celebrates love? I like that idea! <3

I have to also say Happy Valentine's Day to the love of my life, my husband. Honey, I love you more than I ever thought it was possible to love any man. You are my rock, my strength, my smile, my soul and my heart. I cannot thank you enough for being the man, the husband and the father that you are - you are simply amazing and I thank God for you daily!

Happy Valentine's Day to my children too! You all light my world and I cannot being to express how much love I have for each one of you! Thank you for being you and for being an amazing child to this mama! I love you!

Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer Review & GIVEAWAY!

If you've been a reader of mine, you are well aware of how often LA has been sick this winter. Every winter actually. He has asthma and get sicks pretty easy and when he does get sick, his asthma flairs up. It's rather difficult for us at times to tell if he is sick or if it's a flair up. Every time he has gotten sick this winter I would run around the house like a crazy- mad mama trying to find a good thermometer. I would end up finding the THREE that we owned and try all of them and the most frustrating thing would always happen. Each one would give me a different reading. Then, I would take his temp again and each one gave me yet another reading. None were ever consistent so I had no idea what to believe and knew I couldn't rely on any of them for an accurate reading.

That's when I went on the search for yet another thermometer. I had heard great things about Exergen's Temporal Artery Thermometer so I contacted them to see if they had any reviews available and I was thrilled when they said yes! There are really only a few things I look for in a thermometer and they are:

Accuracy (not too much to ask for, right?)
Ease of use so my husband doesn't have a hard time when I am not at home
Something that would not disturb little one if they happen to be sleeping when I need to check their temp

That's about it. I don't think that's asking for too much, do you? When the Exergen came I immediately opened it and started testing it on my husband (he's such a good sport!), myself and LA. I was immediately pleased that EVERY time I took some one's temp it would always be within a fraction of a number. For example, if I took LA's temp and it read 98.9 and then I took it one - two more times it would be either 98.8 or 98.9 or 99.0. It was never way off like on the other thermometers we have used. The Exergen works by scanning the heat that comes off the forehead via the temporal artery. After testing this thermometer numerous times, when LA did get sick I felt very comfortable using the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer for an accurate reading.

LA and I both ended up with the flu several weeks back and this was such a wonderful tool to have in the house. It meets every want I mentioned above and it is easy to use, accurate and allows me to take his temperature without waking him! I love it! It's very easy to use! All you have to do it press and hold a button while moving the thermometer from forehead to just above the ear. My husband didn't have a hard time using it and was able to quickly (and accurately) take temperatures! This thermometer is this mama's dream come true!

In my reviews I normally do more of a company overview along with the product review and our experience, however, I feel this product speak very highly for itself. I had a lot to say about our experience and I am thrilled that I no longer have to search the house for numerous thermometers and wonder which one is accurate when one of our children are sick. This has brought me peace of mind and I am a huge Exergen fan and will recommend it to every parent I know!

I've been doing so many reviews lately for maternity and baby stuff that I am so excited to bring you a review for your older little ones! This is an item that LA uses DAILY and I can't wait til you read about it because we love Kinderglo!

Kinderglo is a night light that is never hot to touch and it's LED night lights brighten the room just enough for your little ones. We cannot use a regular plug in the wall night light because LA will take it out of outlet and that would leave an exposed outlet in his room-not safe at all with an 18 month old. We've tried numerous times to get him to leave it plugged in but he constantly bothers the night lights when they are plugged in so they just aren't an option. I am simply not going to have that worry added to our daily lives. I was so excited to find Kinderglo because they are perfect for our situation. Just perfect!

These night lights are child friendly, safe and fun! Again, they are never hot to touch, meaning your little ones can take them to bed with them! There is a charging station and when charged you remove the night light and there is no cord - another great safety feature. I also love that they automatically turn off after 30 minutes or you can chose to keep on all night. We have kept it on the 30 minute setting and LA has been fine with that. He is almost always asleep before it turns off. When charged though it will stay on for 8-10 hours! Although we chose the Quarter Moon character, Kinderglo is available in many different fun characters and I love how they fade slowly from color to color. There are settings that allow you to chose for your Kinderglo to stay on one color if you or your child prefers that! LA seems to like it fading from one color to another and I love watching it too! Some colors are brighter than others though so I can see this being a great feature when you only want to use the dimmest color to have the smallest amount of light in the room. We have not found one thing about Kinderglo that we do not like.

Final Thoughts: This has been the answer to our prayers in terms of a safe night light. We highly recommend it to all parents and feel it's the perfect unique gift for little ones!

39 Week Pregnancy Update

Yes, 39 weeks. I really didn't think we would make it this far, but here we are, still pregnant! I went for my weekly check up yesterday. According to the literature, baby Addy is about 20 inches long and a bit over 7 pounds. I wonder about that though because I gave birth to LA at 38 weeks 6 days and he was over 8 pounds and I am wondering if she'll be just as big or even bigger as he was! Last Thursday I was 2-3 cm dilated and this week I am at 4 but still not in labor. She is taking her sweet time! It's a good thing though because LA is sick again and on antibiotics so he needs some time to get better so he can go to the hospital to meet his baby sister! I thank God for my in-laws because they are watching LA next week until and during Addy's arrival so he doesn't have to be in daycare since he always seems to get sick at that place. I think we are pretty much ready. I still don't have the house as clean as I wanted to get it, but everything else is done. I need to put a few more things in my hospital bag but that's it! I can't wait to meet my baby girl - we are down to just days!! Who knows, maybe I'll have a baby boy to share my birthday with (LA) and a baby girl to celebrate Valentine's Day! :)

Although I am pregnant and cannot consume alcohol, I wanted to try these recipes for my husband who will enjoy an occasional drink to relax. Being that we are expecting a baby any day now we opted to have our Valentine's Day celebration a few weeks ago and I made a few of these wonderful cocktails for him! Check out these recipes using Alizé Red Passion Liqueur!

Cupid's Kiss

1 oz. Alizé Red Passion

1 oz. Apple Juice

1/3 oz. Lemon Juice

1/3 oz. Sugar Syrup

2/3 oz Vikingfjord Vodka

Directions: Shake and strain into a martini glass.

Taste: This drink is light and zesty, refreshingly crips apple with underlying notes of peach, passion fruit and cranberries.

Sparkling Sweetheart

1 oz. Alizé Red Passion

2/3 oz Peach Puree

1/3 oz Lemon Juice

1/3 oz Sugar Syrup

2 oz Caposaldo Prosecco

Garnish: Lemon Twist

Method: Build in a champagne flute and stir

Taste: Candid peach and cranberry with hints of citrus wrapped in the bubbles of Prosecco

V-Day Passion

1 oz Alizé Red Passion

2/3 oz Lime Juice

1 spoon Cherry Jam

2/3 oz Silver Tequila

Method: Shake all ingredients into a rock glass filed with cubed ice.

Color: Deep Purple-Red

Taste: Rich berries and cherries are delicately balanced on a bed of fresh silver tequila all with a refreshing lime finish.

Be Mine Delight

1 oz Alizé Red Passion

2 Strawberries

1/3 oz Lemon Juice

1/3 oz Apple Juice

2/3 oz Vikingfjord Vodka

Splash of Simple Syrup

2/3 oz Lemonade

Garnish: Lemon Twist

Method: In the Base of a cocktail glass muddle strawberries. Add all remaining ingredients. Shake and strain into a rocks glass.

Color: Orange-pink-red

Taste: Fresh Strawberry and candid cranberries with a zesty citrus finish.

It is a cotton shirt and stretches for a great fit to show off my cute belly while pregnant too! It has the half wrap top with openings on each side of the inner tank for discreet nursing once baby is born. It will still cover your back and pretty much all of your front while nursing! I love this because although I am a believer in breast feeding, I am very shy and prefer to be as discreet as possible when nursing in public or at someone's house and this shirt will allow me to do just that. :)

My Final Thoughts: I love this shirt and highly recommend it to other pregnant and nursing mamas! It's very comfy and I love that it's a dual purpose shirt that we can keep in our wardrobes for longer than a pregnancy!

B Toys Review

We recently had the honor of doing a review for B. Toys. These are some of the most amazing toys on the market in my opinion. They create some amazing toys that are different from all of the others on the market. They stand out and they are fun, imaginative and inspire creativity in our little ones! B. Toys is far more than just a toy company, they are an experience and they are something special! When you are checking out their site, look at all of the adorable kids' quotes they have. That will definitely bring smiles to your face!

One thing (among the many) I love about B. Toys is that they are nice to our planet! This is something very important to us and I applaud their efforts in this area. They make sure that their packaging is done in a way that makes the lease impact on our children's world as possible. They use recycled materials, some packages can be reversed in order to serve as wrapping paper also and their inks are all soy-based and their varnishes are water-based. Recycling to this company is a commitment, and I have so much respect for them because of this commitment. Another great feature of B. Toys? Many of them are ready for gift giving! There is a pretty gift tag that comes on each toy and as I mentioned, many of their packages can be flipped around to give a gift-wrapped item - another way to be green by not using extra wrapping paper or a gift bag!

All of their toys are bright, colorful and look like they are full of fun. We chose the Times Square from B. Toys to review. I was going to save this and give it to LA for a big brother gift at the hospital with Baby Addy is born, but when we received it I simply couldn't wait. It's adorable and so fun! The moment I gave it to LA to play with he was in love. This amazing toy has SIX sides of full on fun! Not one side lacks a thing and each one can entertain a child for a long time! This toy has learning activities, it lights up, plays music (which LA absolutely loves), it has a phone that makes sounds and all of the pieces are easily stored inside for quick and easy clean up! There is also an on and off switch for those times we parents need some peace and quiet! The learning activities include a clock, shapes alphabet letters and numbers.

The Times Square has provided many hours of fun for our little guy and to be honest, this is probably my favorite toy of his! I love playing with this toy and him - so much fun! It's everything we look for in toys for our little ones: fun, educational and durable. It's the perfect gift that will grow with any little one as it has so many activities! B. Toys has so many other toys available and I can't wait to purchase some for our play time at home! I have even recommended these to our daycare because I feel they are great toys that the kids there will not only love, but the kids will benefit from playing with them as well!

Outside of working out to get in shape, I have often wondered how on earth I am going to keep up with two children under the age of two. When I saw the second part of this book title (How to Have Endless Energy to Outplay your Kids) I was immediately drawn in! I definitely need to have more energy to keep up with two babies! :)

This book is divided into sections that couldn't be more appropriate for the mom who is trying to lose weight. The sections include Mindset, Nutrition, Strength and Burst Training, and Environment. I love that it has success stories that will help keep us motivated as we see others and their results. The nutrition section is amazing! Dustin has some great tips and helpful hints when choosing certain foods. There are also some amazing recipes to help us eat healthier and also includes healthy snack ideas - definitely something I need! I am a big time (junk) snacker and will be working on getting healthier in my snacking, especially after Baby Addy arrives. Another section I love in this book is the "Putting Together an Exercise Routine" chapter. It has clear pictures that makes certain exercises easier to understand and allows you to feel comfort in knowing you are doing the right moves!

This is definitely a book that will be beneficial to mamas everywhere who are trying to lose weight. Dustin has successfully put all of the tools we need into one reference with this book and it sure is a valuable reference!

What's On My Mind Monday

Baby, baby, baby. Need I say more? LOL Baby Addy is all that is on my mind. WHEN oh WHEN will I get to meet you, Addy? I was really hoping for a baby this past weekend and it's Monday and I am still pregnant so that obviously wasn't God's plan. I am only at 38 weeks and 3 days, I just had hopes of meeting her a tad bit early! :) LA arrived at 38 weeks, 6 days so I am thinking this week would be normal! :)

I think we are as ready as we are going to get. My darling husband got the bassinet and swing out yesterday and got it all set up. Cloth diapers are ready. The infant car seat base is installed. LA is in his big boy room and has been for several weeks (and doing super well I might add). The house isn't as clean as I wanted to get it, but I am thinking with my lack of energy that's just not going to happen and I need to accept it. LOL I am more than ready to get labor over with. My husband is more than ready to meet our little princess. We're all set...just waiting on Addy to be ready! I know it won't be long I just need to stop being impatient! :)

38 Week Pregnancy Update

Ok, so I was 38 weeks as of Friday but I am just getting around to writing this! LOL I am beyond ready to have this little girl but obviously she's not ready. I had my 38 week appointment and found out I was dilated between 2-3 cm. I was happy with that. I have been feeling really tired. I've been having lots of sinus headaches. My legs ache, my body simply hurts. I am ready to have this baby! :)

I thought Thursday night would be the night, but I was wrong. I was having contractions for 4.5 hours that were between 4-8 minutes apart. I was at the hospital and eventually the contractions started getting farther and farther apart and I wasn't dilating any more than 3 so I was sent home. That is always my fear of when I think about going to the hospital. I don't want to be sent home because of false labor. I felt horrible. I disturbed my in-laws to watch LA overnight. I disturbed the doctor who was on call and disturbed my husband's sleep - and it felt like for no reason. I know the next time I will be hesitant to go! LOL

Today we went to the mall and walked around. I was hoping that would start something! It didn't. LOL I am really hoping baby Addy arrives on Super Bowl Sunday, but I know I can't make that choice...only God can! :) LA was born at 38 weeks and 6 days....today I am 38 weeks and 1 day. I can't stop wondering when I'll get to meet my little girl! I know it will be soon though and that's comforting!

This product will help you drive out odors at their source! It also has a fresh citrus scent - my favorite for use in the kitchen! I love that this can be used with garbage disposals too! We have used this for three weeks so far and I love it!

What I love about all of these products: First and foremost I love that I can use these cleaners and feel comfortable knowing that my children are safe around them! There are so many skincare products on the market these days and it's difficult sometimes to determine exactly which ones we should use to remain on our green, natural paths in life. I was recently introduced to Beija-Flor Naturals and was very interested in their line of products.

Beija-Flor Naturals is based in California and their specialty is organic facial products and curly haircare goodies! They do offer everyday bath and body items as well, such as scrubs and body butters. They also offer natural, organic and vegan/vegetarian products that are preserved naturally whenever possible. Their healing ingredients come from the Amazon Rain Forest and they are a company that is committed to keeping their products affordable.

Beija-Flor Naturals kindly sent us two items for review: the Organic Cocoa Mango Buttercream and the Acai Mango Face Lotion. This turned out to be one product for me and one for my darling husband believe it or not! The face lotion was mine and the buttercream he seemed to take over!

The Organic Cocoa Mango Buttercream is a hand cream and all over body butter, however, it can also be used as a leave-in conditioner for hair! It softens and moisturizes dry, coarse or curly textured hair. My husband used this for his curly textured hair and although he wasn't overly fond of the scent (we were sent the Strawberry Lemonade - I like it but not a guy thing I guess! LOL) he did say that this product worked really well in moisturizing his hair. He stated that he could tell it moisturized and it lasted all day - he really felt a difference in his hair! He also liked that it was light and didn't weigh his hair down or make it feel greasy. He is not on my going green/organic wagon all the time so I love it when he finds a natural/organic product that he loves!! :) He has continued using this since the day we received it! It only takes a small amount so he hasn't even gone through half of the container in about a month. So, not only does it work incredibly well, but it's a great value for your money!

The second item (my item!) was the Acai Mango Face Lotion. This face lotion is great for all skin types, including sensitive and problematic skin because it has mourishing anti-oxidant ingredients. I use this in the mornings after getting out of the shower and it is a refreshing lotion. It is light and therefore when applying it, it doesn't feel heavy like some lotions for the face. The face lotion applies rather easily and requires very little for daily use - another product that is a great value because it will last a long time!

Factory Direct Craft Spotlight

If anyone were to ask me what one of my favorite things to do is I would immediately say crafting! I have been crafting for many, many years. In fact, I started crafting when I as a teenager. My mom and I would do craft projects together (mainly for the holidays) and it was so much fun and such a great, quality family time project! In fact, I used to do crafts with my oldest son when he was smaller and plan to with LA and Addy when they are big enough. I have read so many wonderful things about Tropical Traditions so I was very excited to try some of their products myself! The item they sent me for review was their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. With this pregnancy I have not had much energy at all and my poor husband hasn't had a cooked meal by his wife in quite a while! LOL When I received this, it gave me a reason to force myself to cook something - it was a win win, I got to review this item and my hubby got to enjoy my cooking again!

The Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil is produced by hand and uses a wet-milling process to extract the oil from fresh coconuts. Their coconut oil is one of the best on the market with the highest amounts of antioxidants. The oil is hand made by and benefits the families in the Philippines, where the coconuts are found. Coconut oil is one of the best cooking oils you can use. The fatty acids found in the coconut oil have been found to boost the body's metabolism, raise body temperature, and it helps to produce more energy (which can lead to weight loss). Outside of cooking oil, it can be used as a butter or margarine substitute for spreads, some people even use it in their coffee and tea! The taste does change if frozen, although we did not try that, it is said to taste like candy or white chocolate when frozen! I have also heard that this works well for diaper rash! I'll have to keep that in mind next time we have rash issues around here!

When I used this the first time, I cooked fried potatoes (the country girl in me! LOL) and stuffed chicken in the skillet. I used just over a teaspoon of the coconut oil in each pan. I was hesitant because my husband doesn't really like change. I didn't tell him I was using this, I wanted to see if he noticed a taste difference. If he knew, he probably would have complained and said he didn't like it, just because it was different! LOL So, I made the fried potatoes and the stuffed chicken and gave him a plate of food. We went about our meal and he didn't notice. He didn't say a word other than "this is good honey". SCORE!!! I cooked with something MUCH healthier and he didn't even think it was bad! I was so excited that I've used it several times since. It has actually gotten me back in the mood to cook because I think it's a great oil and I love using it! They also have some great coconut oil recipes you can look at online!

My final thoughts: I love that this is organic, healthy and has many uses!! I definitely recommend using this over unhealthy cooking oils that many of us (including me) have in our kitchens.

The picture above shows my husband in his gear...I saved you the pain of seeing me in my matching shirt since I am nine months pregnant and the shirt doesn't fit so well at the moment! :) We received the Embody Peace items. He also included some Embody Peace stickers and magnets - LOVE these! They are super cute and fun! Embody Peace and Love has several shirts available including these: Peace Revolution, Soul Peace, Yin Yang Peace and Love and the Peace and Love Think Pink shirt (one of my favorites!). All of Thomas' designs are brilliant in my opinion. The moment I saw the shirts, I knew I would be a customer. I absolutely love his designs.

The shirts we were sent are made of 100% organic cotton - big plus to me. We were both sent the black t-shirts with the white lettering and the hat is the same, black with white lettering. I love the simplicity and the uniqueness of the design. I love the message behind the shirts and the fact that they have organic cotton shirts available. I also think it's great that my husband and I have matching shirts! :) Although I have gained a bit too much weight during my pregnancy and my shirt doesn't fit so well at the moment, I am hoping that in about a month (which will be a few weeks after Baby Addy is born) it will fit perfectly! I have washed the shirts a couple of times since we've received them and it almost seems they get softer with each wash. We have not had any problems with the shirts shrinking after washing/drying. My husband's shirt still fit great after washing! I really do love everything about these shirts and cannot find one thing to suggest for improvement. Thomas Hillman has done his job well and has created shirts that we can be proud to wear with a message that deserves to be spread!

We've only tried the one size diapers, however, I just ordered the hook & loop sized diapers. These diapers have a waterproof outer shell and are lined in certified organic cotton. The soakers have four layers of organic cotton and are topped with Bamboo Velour. I love that there is no microfiber anywhere in these diapers and they are all organic! We have slowly moved to using only organic cotton/hemp so that is another reason I love these so much! They are incredibly easy to use. They fit great and there are some great color choices and prints available!! Check out the fit:

LOVE this print - this is the back side (if you couldn't tell! LOL) They do fit fairly trim and definitely no openings for leaks. The only time we had a leak in this diaper is when he took an extra long nap and even then it was just a slight leak.

This is another print I love!! I have a thing for giraffes so of course I love this! The front fit is great too. This particular diaper has side snaps and they work great.

Here is the side fit. You can see it goes around his legs great. We have it on the second set of snaps and it fits the waist great on this 25 pound little guy. Laundering these diapers is also super easy! The soaker just snaps in and out so no unstuffing a pocket - super easy to do! LOVE THEM!!!

37 Week Pregnancy Update

Wow, does that really say 37 weeks? This pregnancy sure flew by. I went to my now weekly doctor appointment the other day and I was dilated - but only to one. LOL My cervix is still high and thick but soft. That's what the doctor said anyway. He thinks we still have a while to wait for baby Addy's arrival! :)

I have been getting more and more tired and I even told my husband that I have no idea how I am going to be able to handle labor being as tired as I am. If I am exhausted, how on earth am I going to get through hours of pain and work? I've been having more and more contractions each day and a bit TMI - I lost part of my mucus plug today. Yuck, I know...but a sure sign she's coming soon! (Although I know that happens within a few weeks sometimes and obviously she will be born within a few weeks since I am 37 weeks along! LOL)

My hospital bag is almost packed. LA's room is done and he's sleeping in it. The nursery is ready for another baby. We got the new crib mattress the other day so everything is all set there. We still need to set up the swing and get the bassinet out, but those are things that my husband can do even after she is born. It'll only take a few minutes. The house isn't as clean as I want it, but I am still working on that bit by bit. Hopefully I'll get farther and farther each day before she arrives.

That's pretty much it around here. Just tired and worried about labor and still trying to get things done little by little.

What's your guess on the day baby Addy will arrive? She's due February 17...my oldest son was born at 40 weeks 6 days; LA was born at 38 weeks 6 days...so what about Addy? Any guesses? :)

I am thrilled to be bringing you another nursing item that helps us mamas by making nursing more comfortable and convenient! I am thrilled to be finding that there are so many wonderful items available to make nursing easier and even fashionable with all the amazing clothes available!

One thing I have been lacking on is nursing bras. I only had one the whole year I nursed LA. I wore regular bras (which make me appreciate nursing bras that much more!) or if I was at home I would just wear a nursing tank top. Because I only had one nursing bra, I really did appreciate and love using it. I feel very fortunate to have been able to work with Breast is Best and review their Mama's Best Nursing/Maternity bamboo bra. You all know I love, love, love bamboo clothing so I was very excited to try this bra.

When I received this package I rushed to get it out and touch it! I was hoping it was going to be incredibly soft like all the other bamboo clothing I have come to love and I wasn't disappointed! I quickly started a load of laundry and put it on the very next day. I was in heaven. It literally didn't feel like I even had a bra on. This ~~has to be~~ IS one of the most comfortable bras I have ever worn, not to mention softest! It is perfect for day or night wear - super comfy in either situation! In fact, the first day I wore it I went to bed not even realizing I still had a bra on! The bra very easily unsnaps for easy nursing and the straps are also easy to adjust. There isn't anything that makes this bra difficult to use or uncomfortable.

The bra is actually 66% Bamboo, 26% Cotton and 8% Lycra, but feels great like it's pure Bamboo! This bra is available in four colors and even adjusts over two sizes so it can accommodate for engorgement. I love that it can be worn for maternity and nursing and will adjust to those growing breasts as our body changes. This bra isn't just a bra you'll wear for a few months while pregnant or nursing, you'll want to keep it forever until it wears out, nursing or not! :) It's genius and just what us mamas need!

Yala Designs has many items available including clothing (for men, women, toddlers and babies), jewelry and bath and bedding products. They offer eco-friendly bamboo and organic items. This review, I am proud to say, is going to focus on their bedding products! One of my goals this year is to switch all of our bedding to eco-friendly bedding. Yala Designs was incredibly kind in sending me two sets of their Bamboo Dreams® pillowcases and a Bamboo Dreams® crib sheet for review. I have wanted to try bamboo bedding for a long while now, but I didn't realize how incredible it would be until I received my package from Yala Designs.

As soon as I opened the pillowcases I was in love. We were sent the chocolate and natural colors. The incredible soft feel of these pillowcases had me melting! I wanted to rush them to my bed and put them on my pillows and go straight to bed! There are no anti-wrinkling agents or chemicals on these pillowcases so you can feel comfortable in laying your head on them every night. The bamboo is organically grown in sustainably managed forests and they use only low impact dyes. One feature I love about these pillowcases, besides the soft feel and the fact that they are chemical free, is that each pillowcase has kind of like a flap that allows you to tuck the pillow in on the end. Most pillowcases I have used just allow the pillow to slide in and you can see the pillow from the open end of the pillowcase. These actually have a feature that allows you to tuck the pillow into the case so that all you see if the pillowcase itself and the color. I love that! These pillowcases are available in eight different colors and offer an incredibly soft and peaceful place to lay your head! I highly recommend these for the ultimate sleeping environment! What a treat it will be to sleep on a bed full of Bamboo Dreams® sheets! We will definitely be getting some of these!

The crib sheet from Yala Designs is something that I wanted to get for our little boy. Now that we have one for him, we will absolutely be getting another one for our baby girl arriving in a few weeks (and hopefully a few extra!). It is on our list of items we are saving for and definitely worth the splurge for us - my one wish though? I wish they had the crib sheet in pink! This sheet does come in three super friendly baby colors though: green tea, natural and rain (a light blue). The sheet fits LA's toddler bed mattress perfectly. It is the same mattress he used in the crib. The fit is snug and perfect for little ones. It is not loose or dangerous in any way that I can see. I am a bit jealous of the little guy for getting a bamboo sheet! :) I am sure he is enjoying the softness and comfort though and that makes this mama happy because I know that it's eco-friendly and free of chemicals too! These Bamboo Dreams® crib sheets are made of incredibly soft and snuggly 100% Viscose Bamboo fabric. It is organically grown in sustainably managed forests and uses no finishing agents and low impact dyes. Perfect for knowing your baby is sleeping on something safe so you can be at peace while they are comfortable in bed!

My Final Thoughts: I am in love. Seriously - these are the most amazing pillowcases I have ever used and I love, love, love letting my little boy sleep on a bamboo sheet! I will be saving to get a full set of sheets for our bed as well as another crib sheet for our baby girl. These are amazing sheets that everyone should pamper themselves with! I highly recommend splurging and getting yourself a set of sheets - you will not regret it!

CARA B Naturally Launches in Target! Soon to be in CVS! Contest

I hope you read my review of CARA B Naturally that I did late last year. Yes, there is finally a line of all natural, affordable skin and hair care products for ethnic babies and kids! I was thrilled when I learned about these products and even more so when I got to try them out on my son. I have been using these products since November and refuse to look back and use anything else!

We regularly use four of their products for LA. With his bath, we use the shampoo/body wash, after bath we use the body lotion (I personally use this on occasion too! Love it!!). If you've been around here, you know LA's hair can be out of control! It has loose curls, but can be really messy and stands on it's ends often! LOL We have found the moisturizing hair mist to be a big help with his hair! We use this stuff daily on his hair. We spray it and then comb it and end up with some tame hair on our child, while at the same time we know his hair is getting moisturized like it needs. Finally, we use the leave-in conditioner about every other day. The back of his hair has started to get a little rough to the touch so we've really started using this lately. We have had nothing but great thoughts about CARA B products and they are truly loved in our house. We love using products that are natural and the fact that they are especially made for ethnic babies is a definite plus in our house. I love seeing smaller companies succeed and guess what? My Brest Friend ~ 3-in-1 Body Pillow Review & GIVEAWAY!

My Brest Friend is an amazing company! I'm sure you've heard about them! They offer many products including nursing pillows and covers, pregnancy pillows and wedges and even burp cloths, vitamins, supplements and nipple cream. That's only to name a few. They have a wonderful company that provides us pregnant and nursing mothers with fabulous products to help in our journeys.

I was incredibly lucky to be able to review the 3-in-1 body pillow from My Brest Friend. I really needed this pillow as I was in a lot of pain when I slept. My hips have hurt for the past 10+ weeks and not having the proper support while sleeping was making it worse. This pillow conforms to your body throughout the night and makes sleeping so much more comfortable. Not only does it offer support for your lower body though, it also offers support for your head and stomach. It has a custom belly wedge that really helps at this stage in my pregnancy (36 weeks). The pillow is designed in a genius way that it doesn't take up much space (much less than your typical body pillow) and it has a removable cover for easy washing!

As I said earlier, my hips have been in a lot of pain with this pregnancy. It's especially bad when I sleep on one side too long. I have been tossing and turning for weeks now trying to stay somewhat comfortable. When I heard I would be able to review this pillow I was thrilled because I just knew it had to help! The day I received this I couldn't wait to go to bed! I was excited to use this and see how much it would help. That night I found out. I slept a lot better and although I still had some pain in my hips, it wasn't nearly as bad as it had been for the weeks prior. The more I used this pillow, the better it seemed to get. I still have some nights that I have more pain than other nights, but overall I have to say my sleeping has increased and my pain has decreased - tremendously. I am so in love with this pillow. I have even gotten into those pregnant moods on occasion and asked my husband why he doesn't put his arm around me or cuddle with my in bed anymore and his answer? He blames it on my new body pillow! He always says, "that thing is in the way". LOL So basically, My Brest Friend 3-in-1 pillow really is my best friend these days!! :)

My final thoughts: I have truly developed a love for this pillow and I have a feeling that it will stay in our bed even after baby Addy is born. I have become attached and sleep so much better with this pillow. Every pregnant mama should treat herself to one of these! It offers amazing support and is just what a pregnant mama needs to reduce some of the pain! I even want to take this pillow to the hospital with me! :)

When she was nursing her own daughter she was introduced to nursingwear but wanted items that were stylish, and items that she would feel good in! This was her inspiration and she has created some fabulous clothes! Milk offers "the freshest nursingwear on the planet"! They stand out from others because they offer great customer service, fabulous styles and great support for moms and moms who are trying to start businesses.

Milk Nursingwear kindly sent me their two piece lounge set for nursing and maternity to review. This set is incredibly soft and luxurious! It is the perfect set to wear around the house or even run quick errands in after baby is born and easily allows for discreet nursing. You can't even tell this set is nursingwear unless you know, and to top it off - they are super stylish! They are great for various temperatures. They aren't too heavy and warm and not too light and cool. They are made of cotton and spandex, wonderfully breathable materials! The sleeves are 3/4 length, another great feature! You can easily add a sweater over the shirt if you do get cool. This set is also designed for comfort not only during your nursing days, but also in your maternity days! Yes, that's right - you can wear while pregnant and then when you are nursing! I personally gained a bit too much weight this pregnancy to fit my prepregnancy size well, so these have been a bit snug. I cannot wait til my nursing days though because I will seriously get some wear out of these! I have washed these a few times and they still look brand new! I also love their nursing tops! I can't wait to wear some of these and get lots of use out of them! Milk Nursingwear has some great, comfortable looking nursing dresses as well! Be sure to check out everything they offer!

Pregnant/nursing mamas - LISTEN UP!!! I do believe I have found THE PERFECT company for us. Momzelle is a company that offers amazing breastfeeding clothing for mamas. Christine, the founder of Momzelle was inspired to create her own nursing top in order to feel comfortable nursing in public. The shirt she created to work for her and her squirmy newborn soon became a shirt many of her friends wanted! Along with her brother, Vincent, Christine founded Momzelle in order to offer her amazing shirts to all nursing moms!

Momzelle offers a wide range of products great for nursing mamas! They have nursing bands, nursing tanks and tees, nursing dresses, and even a nursing night gown! Although I only reviewed one item, I can honestly say my experience with this one item has made me a huge fan of this company and I would love to wear anything they offer! I absolutely love products that were developed by mothers out of a need. These seem to be the best products out there and the most sensible solutions to what we mamas need!

I chose to review the Drape Neck Top Long Sleeve Shirt in the electric blue color. The minute I took this shirt out of the package I knew I was in for a treat. It is incredibly soft and the color is definitely electric - it's beautiful! This shirt can be worn for dressing up or can be worn with jeans and look perfect in either instance. I have even worn this shirt while still pregnant and it's amazingly comfortable and stretchy! I seriously need one of these shirts for EVERY day. The top separates so you can easily and discreetly nurse in public. I absolutely love this feature because although I am a breastfeeding advocate and believe in nursing whenever baby needs it, I am very conservative and appreciate being able to nurse discreetly no matter where I am. I also love the drape top part of this shirt to give it some style! I feel wonderful in this shirt every time I wear it! This shirt is available in four colors and in sizes from XS to XXL!

This is the photo from Momzelle's website. You can clearly see just how it opens for nursing your little one. This shirt has an amazing design that is practical and easy to use. It is stylish and beautiful! I can't imagine one thing I'd change! I have thoroughly enjoyed this shirt and I can't wait to use it while nursing my baby girl next month and the month after, and after, and after! :)

I nursed both of my boys and plan on nursing Miss Addy as well. I strongly believe in nursing my children and I absolutely appreciate companies who make products that allow for nursing mamas to do what we need to do easier. As I have mentioned before, I believe in nursing my baby anywhere and anytime. I am, however, very conservative and will not just nurse without being discreet about it. I don't like showing skin if I don't have to because even though I know there is nothing wrong with nursing and it's natural, there are people who believe otherwise or even people who might be looking in a way I don't want them to. I want to be respectful to others while doing what I need to do to feed my baby. Undercover Mama has made this task easier for me with their creation! It's genius!

Undercover Mama allows nursing mamas to make any shirt into a nursing shirt! I do have some nursing shirts and I love them, however, I also have some shirts that I love that are not nursing shirts. I love that I can still wear those non-nursing shirts using Undercover Mama. This genius design is to be worn underneath your shirt, kind of like an undershirt or tank and it attaches to any nursing bra so that when you raise your shirt to nurse baby your stomach, side and back aren't exposed to the world. It's a great shirt to add to your outfit that will allow you to get back into your favorite clothes quicker, without having to buy a whole new nursing wardrobe.

I chose to review the white Undercover Mama. They have many color choices available though and I really want to get a few more of these for the next year or so that I'll be nursing! They are fabulous! They are comfortable and work perfectly! Although I have not yet had baby Addy, I have tried this on with a few of my nursing bras to see how well it will works and it has been incredible with each one. There is no struggle to get it to work. Not only is it super easy, but it is super convenient. It is on the long side, which I love. This allows for that layered look or if you prefer you can tuck it in. It fits snug, but it's stretchy and comfy so no complaints here!

My final thoughts: Every nursing mama should be treated to a few of these great undershirts! They are convenient and work well in any situation. I love how comfy this is and stretchy. I can even see myself using it to layer my clothes when I am no longer nursing!

Training Our Dog With Milk-Bone® Dog Treats #CBias #ILoveMyK9

We absolutely love doing things with our dog so I was thrilled to work on this dog treat training shop with Milk-Bone®. If you haven't checked out the first part of this experience please do so by looking at my blog post and my Google+ album highlighting our shopping trip! We love shopping together and when we can get new things for our family dog, it's even more fun! We were anxious about teaching her tricks using the dog treats! We realized she is not a puppy so we weren't sure how it was going to work out, but we were determined! Look who was excited to help!

We have had our dog for several years. Early on we worked with her trying to train her, but we never really followed through with anything. My husband (in particular) was excited about this opportunity. We started out by teaching her to "speak" on command. This seemed to be the easiest and it was almost like she remembered it from years ago! We would give her a treat each time she barked on the command of "speak". She started to really get the hang of getting food for doing what we wanted her to do! She was on cloud nine. We normally only bought the Pup-Peroni treats so the Milk-Bone® and the Milo's Treats were new to her and she loved them all!

We then moved on to using the command of "down" for her to lay down. This one took some practice, but she got it! Again, she was more than happy to get treats for laying down! :) The trick that took the longest was the "roll over" command. We mixed in the other two tricks here and there hoping she would understand we were wanting her to do something. We laid her down and turned her over as we were saying "roll over" so she would understand what we wanted. We worked with her on this every day, multiple times per day and towards the end of this experience she finally got it! We were so proud of her and after all of the hard work we all put into this we are thrilled with the outcome! It really was lots of great family-time fun! Our little boy enjoyed it so much as you can see below! Check out our video for the final results of what Bailey can do after being trained with Milk-Bone®, Pup-Peroni and Milo's Treats!

The Bubble & Bee website tells the story behind this incredible store: Stephanie, who had taken advanced chemistry classes at the University of Utah early in life realized in her mid twenties that chemicals in her personal care products could be causing some of her health problems (asthma and hormonal imbalances). On her journey of finding safer products she realized that many products have hidden ingredients and it was then that she decided to make her own products. She would make her products using simple, organic ingredients in what became known as Bubble & Bee Organics.

Bubble & Bee has a lot of incredible products that you can trust! Here is a list of some of their offerings: deodorants, lotions, shower gel, facial care products, lip balms, soaps, bath salts and hair care. Stephanie kindly sent me four items to review: the Organic Coconut & Lime Lip Balm, the Unscented 100% Organic Body Butter, the "Rude" Raspberry 100% Organic Lotion Stick and the Fresh Lavender Organic Shower Gel.

The Organic Coconut & Lime Lip Balm is one of my favorites! I love this stuff! It works incredibly well and believe me when I tell you, I have REALLY USED this stuff! It's winter here in Michigan, and although we've had a mild winter thus far, it has been cold. My skin, including my lips, gets incredibly dry this time of year and I apply this stuff at a minimum of 5 times a day. It has kept my lips soft and it has kept them from chapping and the best part? I love the coconut and lime combination! I highly recommend this lip balm and yes, you see to the left, it is USDA CertifiedOrganic!

The second item I was sent is the 100% organic body butter. My legs are a huge problem this time of year as well. They typically itch so bad and my scratching causes them to bleed sometimes. My arms even get dry patches on them and this body butter has been a wonderful solution to my dry skin this season. It is thick and creamy and is not greasy at all! I love this stuff!

When I tried the lotion stick, I was in love yet again. Bubble & Bee seriously has some of the most amazing products! This stick is WONDERFUL to put in your purse and carry with you for those times you need lotion when you are out and about. It's great for my itchy, dry skin when out because it's so easy to use!It easily applies, it's not greasy and it does the trick! The scent is fabulous! Oh, and it has such a fun name, doesn't it? "Rude" raspberry...AND it's 100% organic! Thumbs up again to Bubble & Bee!

The final item I tried is the Fresh Lavender Shower Gel. I was sent the lavender scent. The shower gel is thin, but it lathers very well. Next time I think I will try the orange scent! That sounds incredible!! They even have foamer bottles available that will make your shower gel last even longer! I can't wait to get those as well! This product is 100% natural and organic and does not contain any nasty chemicals or preservatives! My kind of stuff!!

What's On My Mind Monday ~ My Big Boy!

We did it! We transitioned LA into his big boy room! He is now sleeping in his big boy bed. Yesterday's nap was the first time. It was a struggle at first, but daddy and I both stayed in the room with him until he stayed in bed and fell asleep. He napped for 2.5 hours. When I went to check in on him, he was half off of the bed, but still asleep. Last night, we did the same thing. We sat with him until he fell asleep. He didn't even get up much and it only took maybe 30 minutes for him to fall asleep. He slept in his big boy bed all night! I heard him shortly after 6am and I went into his room. His legs were off of the bed, the top of his body was on the bed so I moved him back onto the bed and he went back to sleep and slept til almost 8am. WOW! I am shocked that so far it seems to be going to well. Last month he finally gave up his morning bottle. Yes, we let him have a morning bottle til he was 17 months old. When we were out of town for the holiday we just didn't give him one. He was so preoccupied with family and different things to do/look at that he never looked back. Bottle was gone and he was fine. Although I know these are good things in preparation for baby Addy, I am almost sad that my little boy is growing up! Next it's potty training and no more cloth diapers. That will be sad too! It's that balance that we as mothers have to adjust to ~ being happy that they are growing and developing, but being sad that they are no longer our cuddly little babies. I know there is a possibility that he will regress once baby Addy arrives, but I am glad we've gotten off to a good start!

When I started making green changes last year, Skoy cloths were one of the first new green products that I tried and loved! These take the place of paper towels in so many situations. Skoy cloths are 100% biodegradable, reusable, compostable, earth saving and even look super cool!

35 Week Pregnancy Update

So, I had intended on doing a weekly post while pregnant and time has sure gotten away from me! I am 35 weeks (and one day!) now and cannot believe that in about a month we'll get to meet our precious baby girl. The time has flown by during this pregnancy and it seems like I just tested yesterday. I seriously cannot believe - THIRTY FIVE weeks? Whoa.

The pregnancy itself has gone pretty well. I have had more ultrasounds this time around than I had with both of my previous pregnancies total, but everything always turned out to be ok. We are oh so grateful for that. At 35 weeks, the books say that our baby girl is about 5 pounds and 18 inches long. I am so excited to see how much she weighs and compare that to her brothers. My oldest was 8 lbs 15.5 ounces at birth. LA was 8 lbs 4.3 ounces. I have heard that each baby typically gets bigger...not the case here. Then again, my first was 6 days past his due date, LA was 8 days before so that most likely explains the weight difference. With LA I had a ton of heartburn. I tend to think that old wives tale of "if you have a lot of heartburn, baby will have a lot of hair" is true. It was with LA. This time, I have had even more heartburn...so again, can't wait to see if that holds true for us this time. I have been extremely tired and it never seemed to get better with this pregnancy. I remember last time it got better in the second trimester. This time, it lingers on. Could be because I am chasing an 18 month old around, huh? LOL

I have one more appointment and then I go weekly. I will be excited to see if I am dilated at all when they check around 37 or 38 weeks. All of those last minute things that are exciting are starting to come to mind. And then I am quickly reminding myself that I have so many things to do before baby Addy arrives. I probably should go do something now...but, I'm tired!! LOL

Smartipants #ClothDiaper Review & GIVEAWAY!

Cloth diapering is something I truly enjoy. I don't do it 24/7 because I do work full time and with LA in daycare (they don't use cloth at daycare) it's difficult to get enough diaper laundry to do every two days if I am not at home using cloth all the time. I love, love, love the days I get to use cloth though! I recently got to try Smartipants cloth diapers for LA and I had heard so many great things that I was thrilled for this opportunity to try them myself!

Smartipants diapers were created by a mom of four that was always looking for ways to be economical - something most of us can relate to! Smartipants is committed to making cloth diapering easy AND affordable. They are dedicated to being 100% green, environmentally friendly, economical, and determined to keep their diapers made in the USA by mothers! Great company, don't you think?

We were sent a Smartipants one size diaper to review. These diapers fit baby from 7-35 pounds. LA is about 25 pounds and it fit him great. Their diapers feature a Leak-Guard Technology, which keeps moisture contained while keeping baby dry! They are also made of breathable fibers and are of course free of chemicals! This diaper is very affordably priced at just $14.95 and comes with one Polyester-Nylon blend insert. The pocket shell opens on both ends and therefore, you do not need to remove the insert when wet. You can simply put the diaper in the washer and it will agitate out in the wash. It is a snap closure diaper.

We tried this diaper for both nap time and day time playtime. It worked great in both instances. He did take one nap that was rather long for him (3.5 hours) and we did have a small leak. His regular naps though (2-2.5 hrs) were perfectly fine, no leaks. I am rather confident had I used two inserts for that longer nap we would have been fine. Laundering this diaper is very simple. It fits right in with all the other diapers when we do laundry. There was very little prepping the diaper. I love that it has an opening in the front and the back of the shell so the insert can agitate out in the wash. That makes it even easier to just toss in and go!

You can see there is one row of snaps for the closure. The snaps will even overlap if you have a smaller baby, that's a great feature!

The leg fit is great as well. There are no openings and the diaper did not leave marks around his legs! Big plus since we've had this problem lately with other diapers.

The back fits well also. It is a pretty trim diaper, with only one insert in it. Even with two it's not super fluffy.

Overall opinion: We really like this diaper.The fit is great, laundering is easy and the closure is simple to use! The price is very affordable at just $14.95. My only wish is that they had natural inserts available, like organic cotton, bamboo or even hemp. Overall, we were very pleased with this diaper.

Vera Bradley Review ~ Perfect On-The-Go Bags and Gifts!

Right before Christmas I was given the honor of reviewing a couple of items from Vera Bradley. I say honor because, if you've ever used a Vera Bradley bag you will know what I mean, these bags are AMAZING! Not only does Vera Bradley offer beautiful, eye catching bags, but they are sturdy, functional and they have many other items perfect for any occasion! This review came at the perfect time for us because we were going out of town for part of our Christmas break so I was able to really put the items to test!

I was sent two items from Vera Bradley: the Grand Traveler and the Cheers to You wine bottle gift bag, both in the Floral Nightingale print. First, let me just say that I absolutely love this print and when I opened the package and saw this is what I was sent - I was elated! This print is absolutely GORGEOUS! The Grand Traveler measures 21"x14.5"x9.5" and has a 52.5" removable strap. Although we didn't fly over the break, it was great to know that this bag is carry-on compliant and I will be able to use it the next time we do fly! It also has a trolley sleeve that allows you to slip it onto a piece of rolling luggage to easily get through an airport with your bags! This bag has so many great features! It has pockets on the back and underneath the front closure, it has four large pockets inside, the removable shoulder strap is incredibly handy, and it has an exterior ID window as well! The bag is a convenient zip closure to keep your items secure. My husband and I used this bag for our clothing items to go out of town for three days and we had plenty of room for more, which was my plan because I knew we would be getting gifts to bring back with us! This bag is a great size for an out of town weekend visit, it is beautiful, and it is perfect. Finally, it's even machine washable for easy care when you return from your trip! I have not one complaint about this bag and I totally recommend it to everyone now! I am actually packing this bag again and will be using it for my trip to the hospital when baby Addy is born soon! It's great because I can pack all of those "not sure if I'll need this" items along with the necessities and baby's items - all in one place: my beautiful Vera Bradley Grand Traveler!

As for the Cheers to You wine bottle gift bag? That was perfect timing for the holidays as well! One of my friends was having a holiday/house warming get-together and we were questioning what we should take. When this arrived, we had our answer! We decided on taking a nice bottle of wine in this gorgeous gift bag for her! Let me just say she was thrilled! She absolutely loves the Vera Bradley gift bag, I really don't think she cared what was in it because she went on and on about the bag! It was perfect! The bag has a small amount of padding and a drawstring closure to secure itself around the bottle of wine. This would also be perfect for the upcoming Valentine's Day and sharing a bottle of your favorite wine with that someone special!! :)

Vera Bradley has such a wide array of products and prints with each product that everyone is sure to find something they will love! They have the Get Carried Away tote that would be the perfect diaper bag (especially for me since I'll need to carry around items for two kiddos)! Milk-Bone Training Treats Shop #ILoveMyk9 #CBias

I don't really get to include our dog much in my blog posts/reviews so I was thrilled to do this Milk-Bone® training treats shop, which would be all about our little Yorkie! Our mission was to shop our local Walmart for three types of dog treats: Milk-Bone®, Lean Pup-Peroni and Milo's Kitchen treats that we would then use to train our dog. Be sure to check out our Google+ photo story of our Milk-Bone Training Treats Shopping trip. Our plan was to get the treats right away and then work with her for two solid weeks teaching her how to sit, speak and roll over. Sounded like a big task for such a little dog and a small amount of time! :)

We went to our local Walmart in the evening and found all of the treats we were looking for. We were ~~overwhelmed~~ surprised with the huge selection of treats they have for dogs! We even saw an end cap stocked full of Milk-Bone® dog treats! That was nice to see as soon as we got to the pet section. We quickly found all three of the brands we were looking for! What a great relief! The Pup-Peroni Lean treats were only available in Beef so that was an easy choice. The Milk-Bone® soft & chewy treats were available in two selections: chicken of beef (we ended up getting the beef), and the Milo's Kitchen treats were available in a wide range of flavors! I did notice that the Milo's Kitchen treats were the most expensive as far as the larger bags, however, I was very pleased to see significantly less ingredients in this brand! I normally don't pay attention to what is in the treats we give our dog. My husband typically gets them for her, but this year, I think I'll start looking more at that...she's a part of the family too and needs to be healthy! :)

We were also rather pleased to find a coupon on the some of the Milk-Bone® products that would allow us to save $2 if we purchased the three brands together...getting a deal is always a good thing in my eyes! I am a coupon lover so this made my day! Now that we have easily found the treats on our shopping trip...it's time to go home and start training our old dog new tricks!

Our Yorkie is 6 years old. My husband worked with her when she was very young and taught her a few tricks but we haven't done anything with that in years so I was excited to see if she would pick up quickly on these tricks or not. Green Tip Tuesday ~ Winterizing Your Windows and Saving Energy

The weather here in Michigan has been pretty mild. In fact, we haven't had one major snowfall yet. All we have seen is a dusting of snow barely covering the ground. That is extremely rare for us to make it to January and be able to say that. I do know that the cold weather will be arriving soon enough though and I want to make sure we are ready, we are able to stay warm and save energy at the same time.

An important thing to check in your home in the winter is your windows. There is so much air that can come in, so much energy that can be lost. Follow these easy steps to be sure you'll stay warm and save energy this winter!

If you have drafty doors or windows, you can get some weatherstripping from your local home repair store to stop any draft.
Using curtains and/or shutters on your windows can also prevent cold weather from coming in. Using insulated drapes can help even more!
Be sure you have also removed any window air conditioners.
If you have cracks or tiny wholes in the window, replace the window. You'll be surprised at how much this can help!
Lastly, using plastic heat-shrink kits for your windows can also make a drastic difference. This is a very inexpensive way to keep the cold out and save energy.

Brave Woman ~ Taking the Pledge #CBias #BraveWoman

Did you know that one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime? That is 25% of women! That is a terrifying number that definitely needs to be reduced. If you remember, I wrote not long ago about this amazing Brave Woman campaign where I told you about my sister and a bit of her domestic abuse situation. My sister is one reason I am taking the Brave Woman pledge and I encourage you to do the same! The more awareness we get out there, the better off these women and their children will be.

Leaving a domestic violence situation is one of the toughest things for most women to do. They need as much encouragement and support as they can get to make this brave decision to get out and make the change that will ultimately change their life for the better. Not only these women though, their children included. As a mother, I can't imagine having to make that brave decision of whether to get out of a domestic situation or to stay where I know my children have a roof over their heads. You see, many of these women don't believe they can make it on their own, they don't have the confidence to know that they can find a way. They don't know of the help that is available to them, the support they can receive. The women who find that bravery are indeed heroes. I encourage you once again to take a look at the Brave Woman pledge and pledge with me to honor and respect these brave women and children who tackle that difficult journey from domestic violence to a new life. Pledge that you will acknowledge your own moment-by-moment bravery and remain aware of what is happening to others around you and speak up against any form of violence. Stand up with me for human dignity and safety for women and children everywhere. I am taking the pledge for my sister, who suffered years of abuse but found the courage to get out. I am taking the pledge for those children who are scared every day that something may happen to their mama. I am taking the pledge to force myself to be a braver woman and to stand up for something I truly believe in - a violent free childhood for all children and a fear-free life for all women. Be a brave woman with me, together we can make so much change and encourage so many!
